Baptism

Chris is a young man we met while preaching on the streets in downtown Springfield. He spoke with Brian a year or so ago and then more recently he spoke with Brian again one weekend and then with David K, Kevn and Olen the next weekend. At that point he decided to leave all and follow the Lord. He has had to fight many battles but has been faithful. He is a blessing to have around and we praise the Lord for another brother.

Chris was baptized 1 1/2 weeks ago; here are a few pictures of that:

  1. Chris is,a,friend of mine who was decieved and stolen away from his friends and family. This church is a cult and God is not present here

  2. The first two fruits of the spirit the Bible mentions are love and peace. Sadly, I do not see these fruits manifested in these sign-holders. I behold no light in their eyes, but the glaze of the spiritually complacent who do not know the true contriteness of spirit that Jesus mentioned in a parable, who beat his breast saying, "Lord, forgive me, a miserable sinner." He is loved more than the 99 who are righteous in their own eyes. God desires this type of person, and works through them, not those who think they have attained some superior state of sinlessness over and above the human race. I do not think this is what Jesus meant by being in the world but not of it. I believe the most effective type of Christian witnessing centers on attraction through inclusiveness, not repulsion through exclusiveness. These people are turning people away from Christ, and the love he had for all--tax collectors, prostitutes, and all manner of those whom these "Christians" judge. They crucify Christ afresh. My spirit grieves to see this doctrine being preached in Christ's name.

  3. I'm sure a lot more have commented besides this concerned friend of Chris. Comments are moderated means comments are discarded. Hope you find your way out of this cult Chris...your family and friends care about you...you could have a bright future. This church should be ashamed of the abhorrent subjugation of women. Go on blaming women for all your troubles...in truth you have much to learn from them, as spiritually they are often male's superiors. We have brute strength over them...big deal! This church has strayed so far from Christ's teachings, who laid down no hard and fast rules which are grievous to the spirit. Yours is a twisted Paulianity, not the way of love taught by Christ.
